About the event
Lefse, a potato flatbread, was a practical way to store potatoes over the harsh Norwegian winters. The potato famine of the mid-1800's led many to emigrate to the Midwest bringing their rolling pins and recipes. Bob grew up on Grandma's Lefse which was served in the fall through Christmas. Grandma is long gone, but Bob has her recipe. Unfortunately, Bob didn't have her technique for making that tasty staple to holiday dining. Fortunately through hundreds of hours of YouTube videos and numerous experiments, Bob and Sarah have captured have both the recipe and the technique.
Bob and Sarah Lea will share on the kitchen tools for Lefse making, the "recipe" and those all-important techniques to enjoy those Lefse bites that melt in your mouth. They'll also demonstrate rolling out and cooking Lefse with warm samples bathed in butter for all to enjoy.
